My research spans from fundamental investigation of precipitation microphysics to applied research related to weather impact modeling, grid resilience, renewable energy, and energy justice.
I am involved in several research and development projects funded by private companies and federal agencies, including Eversource Energy, Avangrid, Exelon, Dominion Energy, ISO-New England, NYCHA, NASA, NSF, EPA, and DoE.
Specific projects include:
- Power outage prediction modeling for electric transmission and distribution systems,
- Power outage restoration modeling and optimization,
- Grid resilience assessment,
- Wildfire ignition modeling,
- Electricity demand prediction,
- Renewable energy integration forecasting,
- Vegetation uprooting prediction,
- NASA GPM Ground validation of wintry precipitation measurements,
- Support to Environmental Justice (EJ) communities.
